#HalfMyDAF
“As a fellow champion for children and youth in foster care, we want to share an opportunity for you to make an even bigger impact on the CASA mission.
If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you may know that over $229 billion currently sits in DAFs across the country. Now you have the opportunity for your donations to go even farther through the #HalfMyDAF movement. This effort aims to mobilize these funds to support nonprofits like CASA of Sonoma County by offering us the chance to receive unrestricted matching grants. Since its inception in 2020, the #HalfMyDAF community has awarded over $50 million in grants. The more donors who join this movement and support CASA of Sonoma County, the greater our chances of receiving a matching grant.
Here’s how this works:
- If you are a DAF holder and commit to spending down half of the money that was in your DAF on January 1st by September 27, 2024, all the grants you make are eligible for a match from #HalfMyDAF.
- Start by making a grant. When you have your grant confirmation (usually downloadable from the fund sponsor’s website, or you can take a screenshot), complete this #HalfMyDAF commitment form and attach the DAF grant confirmation(s).
- You can submit grants to as many nonprofits as you’d like. You have until September 27, 2024, for your gift to CASA of Sonoma County to be eligible for a dollar-for-dollar matching grant, up to $5,000, through #HalfMyDAF.
- You can learn more about this initiative at halfmydaf.com.
